Captured during the Apollo 10 orbit of the Moon, this remarkable black and white photograph showcases the incredible diversity of lunar landscapes. The image provides a detailed view of the ridge of Godin Crater, situated south of Agrippa crater on the Moon's surface. This crater, named after French astronomer Louis Godin, spans approximately 34 kilometers (21 miles) in diameter.

Adjacent to Godin Crater, the northeast is home to Tempel crater, while the southern region features the flooded remnants of Lade, further adding to the lunar scenery.

The pear-shaped rim of Godin Crater stands out, encompassing a rough-textured interior with a higher reflectivity compared to the surrounding terrain. Rising from the crater floor, a central peak adds depth to the crater's features. Additionally, a faint ray system extends approximately 375 kilometers (233 miles) from the crater, remnants of the impact event that formed it. In lunar mapping, Godin Crater is classified as part of the Copernican System. The estimated depth of the crater is around 3.2 kilometers (2 miles).
